Pizza Hut in St. Joseph Township is undergoing some changes.

The restaurant will be getting a facelift that will include the elimination of the dining area and the addition of a drive thru. At a Tuesday meeting of the St. Joseph Township Planning Commission, members approved a site plan presented by Pizza Hut’s Chad White.

It was our first Pizza Hut that we built in 1972, and it’s due for a refresh, and this is kind of the model that Pizza Hut wants to go by,” White said. “We just want to put money back in the community.”

The projected site is 1,400 square feet. White said there will be no dine-in at this new location, but the Stevensville location will still include dining.

With everything the way they shifted, it just doesn’t work here. So we just want to be more efficient in this location.”

The newly redesigned Pizza Hut will leave some space available on its property. Pizza Hut is planning to add something new to the site, but it hasn’t announced yet what that will be.

White also mentioned the Berrien Springs Pizza Hut is undergoing changes. However, he said he said that project will be completely different from St. Joseph Township.
