Interviews with candidates for the new position of Lincoln Township Manager will be held next week.

Speaking to colleagues at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Lincoln Township Trustee Marc Florian said the subcommittee charged with seeking a township manager received 22 applications for the post. He told us with so many applications, a process to settle on finalists was followed.

And that process involved us first independently going through all of those resumes that were received and to do so independently,” Florian said. “Our hope, my hope as a chairperson of that subcommittee, was that we would come back, each of us, and compare our top five candidates and that there would be similarity between us. And in fact, when we came back and compared them, there was identical similarity.”

All three subcommittee members settled on the same four finalists. Those four will be interviewed by the full township board at the township hall next Thursday, August 22 starting at 1:30 p.m. However, one of the candidates may not make it, in which case the interviews would start around 2:15.

The interviews will be open to the public and the identities of the candidates will be revealed at that time.

Starting next year, Lincoln Township is changing from a supervisor form of government to a manager form of government in which a manager hired by the township board will manage day to day affairs at the township hall, as opposed to an elected supervisor. The hope is to hire a manager in September.
