A Laporte, Indiana man is dead following a crash in Berrien Township early Thursday.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says it happened around 12:10 a.m. on Dean Hills Road near Hochberger Road.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene to learn a single vehicle had been headed northeast on Deans Hill when it failed to negotiate aa curve and left the road to the right. The vehicle hit the guardrail, went down into a ditch, and crashed into several large trees.
The 29-year-old driver was trapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the driver has not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
