U.S. Energy Secretary and former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is defending President Joe Biden after his poor debate performance last week.
Some Democrats are openly calling for Biden to be replaced as the nominee for president, but Granholm says that would be rash.
“Sometimes you have a crappy debate performance,” Granholm said. “It’s the worst, it is the worst set of skills that is needed to be able to actually govern. It’s completely different doing a debate versus actually governing. We cannot throw three and a half years of an excellent presidency, excellent results out, because of a 90 minute debate. So I’m 100% behind him. I want him to finish the job.”
Granholm spoke this week as a campaign surrogate. She tried to calm fears about Biden’s age after he spent last week’s debate mumbling and stuttering.
