The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says a girl reported missing out of Benton Township on Sunday has been found.
The sheriff’s department put out word Wednesday, asking for the public’s help finding the missing juvenile. She’d last been seen at the bus station at Nickerson Avenue and M-139 Sunday morning.
The girl had been waiting for her mother, but surveillance video showed her leaving with a man and woman after talking with the man.
The sheriff’s department now says after media coverage of the incident, it received a tip that led the investigation into the city of South Haven.
Detectives were able to find the girl and reunite her safely with her family.
The department thanks the South Haven Police Department, Van Buren County Marine Patrol, and the South Haven Beach Safety Unit for helping locate the girl. It also thanks the members of the public who submitted tips.
