Five arrested in Van Buren County warrant sweep

Five fugitives are now in police custody following a sweep by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department this week.

The department says detectives from its investigations and narcotics division rounded up individuals with outstanding warrants on Tuesday.

Among them were a Gobles woman held in contempt of court for failure to pay child support; a Hartford man charged with receiving and concealing stolen property and drug possession; a Gobles man charged with filing a false police report and resisting and obstructing; a Mattawan man charged with drug possession; and a Lawton woman charged with aggravated assault.

The sheriff’s department says during its sweep, it did recover a stolen 2010 Kawasaki motorcycle.

All the arrested suspects are in the Van Buren County Jail.

Arrested: Corya Underwood, a 50-year-old female of Gobles

Arrested: Dallas Watson, a 40-year-old male from Hartford
Warrant Information:

2. Van Buren County Felony Dangerous Drugs-No Bond

Arrested: Jerry Bronkhorst, 52-year-old male of Gobles
Warrant Information:
1. Van Buren County Felony Fraud-Filing False Police Report-No Bond
2. Van Buren County Felony: Resisting and Obstructing Police-New Charge

Arrested: Shaun Jackson, a 38-year-old male of Mattawan
Warrant Information:
1. Van Buren County Dangerous Drugs: No Bond

Arrested: Briana Mitchell, a 29-year-old female from Lawton
Warrant Information:
1. Van Buren County Felony Aggravated Assault: No Bond
