The sound of live music will once again be in the air in downtown St. Joseph as St. Joe Today is bringing back its Brown Bag Concert Series and its Friday Night Concert Series for the summer starting in July.
St. Joseph Today’s Daniele Crevier tells us the Brownbag concerts will Wednesdays from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Howard Band Shell, starting July 17. They’re a great opportunity for someone to take in some music while on their lunch break.
Crevier says the series was brought back last year after a COVID hiatus.
“People were really, really excited for the Wednesday Brownbag Concerts to return, like the senior community, which is a really fun thing for them to come out and to enjoy the community and to go to the band show, hear some music,” Crevier said.
The Friday Night Concert Series is also held at the band shell, only at 7 p.m. on Fridays, starting July 19.
“It’s just an hour-long free concert that you can join us at, and we’ve got seven different artists. Those are going to be a little bit bigger bands. We’ve got anyone from like the Municipal Jazz Band is actually going to join us, Lake Effect Jazz, P.T. and the Cruisers. So, we’ve got a couple different acts anywhere ranging from big band style, jazz, blues, oldies, and again, some indie rock, different things like that.”
Crevier says St. Joseph Today hosts the concerts, with Silver Harbor Brewing sponsoring the Friday night series this year.
Everyone’s also invited to the Wednesday Night Market, which will be held each Wednesday starting on July 17. The market will feature goods from artisans, farmers, and more from 4 to 8 p.m. in Court Place Plaza, across from Silver Harbor Brewing.

The Wednesday Brown Bag Concert Series offers lunchtime entertainment from 12:00p-1:00p each week, July 17-August 28. Knapp said concertgoers can bring in brown bag lunches or get take-out food from a variety of restaurants in the adjacent downtown. This year’s lineup includes:
