The Cass County Sheriff’s Department has named a suspect in three stabbings that occurred Thursday night.
The department says deputies responded to a home in the 32,000 block of School Street in Silver Creek Township around 10:40 p.m. on a report of a stabbing. They arrived to find three victims with multiple stab wounds from one attacker.
The victims were a 73-year-old man, a 75-year-old woman, and a 31-year-old man. The two older victims were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment, while the 31-year-old refused treatment.
The suspect fled before deputies arrived, but they have now identified him as 28-year-old John Henry Coons of the Dowagiac area.
The sheriff’s department says it believes this was a focused incident and that no one else is in danger.
Anyone aware of Coon’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
