A suspect is in police custody following a shooting in Benton Township early Monday.
The Benton Township Police Department says officers were called to the area of 1921 Union Street, at the Briarwood Apartments, around 3:40 a.m. on a report of a shooting. They arrived to find the 54-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to Corewell Health South Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A 33-year-old male suspect was found at the scene and taken to the Berrien County Jail.
The shooting remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Benton Township Police Department.
