Democrats are stepping up their campaign stops in Michigan ahead of November’s presidential election.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg calls Michigan home and is helping the effort for President Biden. He was asked about what issues matter most to Michiganders.
“Every election is about everyday life,” Buttigieg said. “It’s about how your everyday life gets better or worse, depending on who’s in charge. And what we hear a lot is a focus on things like economy, making sure that we continue the job creation that is taking place on President Biden’s watch, making continue going after the cost of living. The cost of living has been rising.”
President Biden will be in Detroit Sunday, serving as keynote speaker during the NAACPs 69th Annual Fight for Freedom Fund dinner. First Lady Jill Biden is stopping this week in Marquette, Midland, and Detroit.
Former President Trump has visited Michigan three times this year, most recently, two weeks ago in Freeland.
