Sean Connelly, 55, of Grand Beach, MI, passed away on May 16, 2024. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Sean was born on Feb. 16, 1969 in Chicago, IL, to George and Kathleen (Hartigan) Connelly. Sean is survived by his father – George Connelly of Grand Beach, MI; brothers – George (Erinn) Connelly of Long Beach, IN and Marc (Anne) Connelly of Grand Beach, MI; sister – Jennifer Connelly-Steel of Grand Beach, MI; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Sean attended LaLumiere School and Saint Ignatius College Prep and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School, collecting countless friends along the way. He graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and cherished his time spent at Loyola’s Rome Center. He was an avid reader and over the years amassed an expansive book collection which he treasured. Sean will be remembered for his great sense of humor, loyal friendships, and devotion to his family.
Mass will be held on Monday-May 20, 10:30 (CDT) at Notre Dame Catholic Church – 1005 Moore Rd., Michigan City, IN. Visitation with the family is on Sunday – May 19, from 4:00-7:00pm (CDT) at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo and also one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church from 9:30am (CDT) until time of service.
