Dennis A. Dodd, 72, of Sister Lakes, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born on February 4, 1952, in Watervliet, MI, the son of the late Robert and Eleanor (Long) Dodd. On October 11, 1975, Dennis was united in marriage to Beverly L. Bisnett. He was employed by Chardon Rubber Co. for 30 years until their closing in 2007.
Dennis was a loving husband, father, and grandpa, who thought the world of his grandkids. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years at Lakes Bowl with his friends. Dennis was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dowagiac where he was a past member of the church council. He was active in the Dowagiac Band Boosters and was past president for 3 years. He worked with a great group of friends in the football concession stand. Dennis loved playing with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years – Beverly Dodd; son – Justin (Kayla) Dodd of Dowagiac; four grandchildren – Rogan, Koda, Oakleigh and Luna Dodd; two brothers – David (Jan Levan-Dodd) Dodd of Portage and Phillip Dodd of Arizona; and his partner-in-crime – Henry Burton.
A service to celebrate Dennis’ life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 603 McCleary St, Dowagiac. Pastor David Schmidt will officiate. Friends may visit Dennis’ family from 5-7 PM with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM on Friday, May 17 at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in Dennis’ name may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
