Amy Piper of Lansing has written a new guidebook, “Secret Michigan-A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful and Obscure.” She told us more.
“There’s the largest lug nut,” Piper said. “There’s the largest tire, which was once a Ferris wheel in the1967, I believe, New York World’s Fair. We have the largest cherry pie. We have the largest cherry pie pan.”
The largest cherry pie and pie pan are in Traverse City. The largest lugnut is in Lansing. The largest tire is in Allen Park along I-94.
Piper said you can also see lots of shipwrecks by taking glass bottom boat tours.
