Michigan is facing a critical shortage of organ donors.
Patrick Wells O’Brien is with Gift of Life Michigan and says thousands of Michiganders are waiting for life-saving organs.
“Right now, 2,400-plus Michiganders are waiting for a life-saving transplant,” O’Brien said. “That means without that call, many of them have no other therapeutic solution, no other medical remedy.”
O’Brien says 90% of adults approve of organ donation. However, only 57% register while at the Secretary of State’s office.
