There will be plenty of road work in Benton Township this year.

The Benton Township Board of Trustees this week approved a list of projects from the Berrien County Road Department.

Repaving will be done on parts of Ferguson Road, Ogden Avenue, Newman Terrace, and Sommerleyton Road at a total cost of $226,000. The township’s share of that cost will be $113,000.

There will also be some grading done to Highland Avenue at a cost of $40,000, with the township’s share being $20,000.

Finally approved Tuesday night was sealcoating for Kerlikowske Road from Duncan Road to Red Arrow Highway at a cost of $55,000. The township’s share will be $27,000.

Benton Township Supervisor Cathy Yates told us the projects are all fairly standard as part of the road department’s annual maintenance program.
