The Van Buren County Sheriff’s department says be on the lookout for a stolen sawmill.
Sheriff Daniel Abbott is asking for help from the public regarding the theft of a portable sawmill (pictured above) from a residence in the 46-thousand block of 41st Street in Waverly township. The sawmill was taken overnight Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
The sheriff’s office says the machine is very unique and cannot be purchased locally — its log frame is constructed of metal tubing and is about 23 feet long and 4 feet wide. The attached band saw is gas powered and manufactured by T.A. Schmid.
Deputies are asking for information from anyone who may have seen this item being moved or may see it in the area.
The unit may be on a separate trailer or towed directly behind a vehicle. If you have information about this, you’re encouraged to reach out to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s office.
