The city of Hartford will have a new city manager starting this week.
Nicol Brown has been hired for the position, effective this Wednesday.
Brown comes to Hartford from the city of St. Joseph, where she was the director of the city housing commission. In her role with the commission, she was responsible for obtaining grants, managing the commission and its employees, and planning the budget and capital improvements.
Prior to working for the St. Joseph Housing Commission, Brown was the Community and Economic Development Director for the city of Benton Harbor.
Brown will host a meet and greet with Hartford residents at city hall next Wednesday, March 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. for everyone to get to know her.
Hartford Mayor Richard Hall says Brown’s “knowledge and experience will be a great addition to the city.”
