It’s been one year since the shootings at Michigan State University in which three students were killed, including Alex Verner of Clawson.
The Clawson School district put out a message Tuesday sayings with the anniversary of the MSU shootings, they wanted to continue to shine a light on Alex.
Billy Shellenbarger is superintendent of schools in Clawson and knew Alex.
“Every day without Al is a tough day, certainly today a little tougher than others,” Shellenbarger said. “You know, number one, I’d like to certainly pay our respects to all those at Michigan State, other Clawson students who were there, and today is tough for them. And the families of the other two students from Grosse Pointe who passed and those who were involved in that shooting that day. We’re thinking about them as well.
The Clawson school district dedicated a gym court the “Alex Verner Court.” Arielle Anderson and Brian Fraser were also killed in the shootings. Several others were injured.
