A 2-year-old girl from Algonac is ringing the bell after beating a rare pediatric cancer.

Kassidy Selman was diagnosed with AML, which is a childhood leukemia. With her genetic mutation, she was only one of two cases in the world.

The Selman family took her to Children’s Hospital of Michigan, who called around the world to find the best treatment, as her father Zach explained to Michigan News Network.

“The doctors made it easier because they were really good at explaining everything, but there was a lot going on and we just prayed and went with emotions as they came along,” Selman said.

After chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, Kassidy is now cancer free and is about to celebrate with a trip to Disney. It’s being provided by the Rainbow Connection.
