With the winter season in full swing and holiday travel now happening, the Allegan County Health Department reminds everyone it’s important take steps to avoid respiratory illness.

The department says flu, COVID, and RSV cases have all been up this season. It advises residents to avoid close contact with anyone who’s sick, to stay home when sick, get tested before attending gatherings, look at respiratory illness trends before travelling, and to frequently wash hands.

The Allegan County Health Department and other health departments also remind everyone there are vaccines available for flu, COVID, and RSV. It suggests contacting your doctor or pharmacy about scheduling them.
