Samuel B. Perrone, Jr., 67, of Berrien Springs, passed away due to complications from a stroke, Friday, December 8, 2023 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, surrounded by his loving family. Sam donated his body to the Western Michigan Body Donation Program in Kalamazoo.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Heritage Chapel, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs. Please bring your memories of Sam to share. Sam was born November 22, 1956 in Benton Harbor to Samuel B. Sr. & Agnus L (Dunn) Perrone. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1974 and attended Lake Michigan College. On July 21, 1984 he married the former Beth Bly at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. He was employed most recently for Lakeshore Public Schools Transportation Dept. as a bus driver, retiring after thirteen years. All of his students loved him. He continued his love of driving with Fruitful Vine Tours in Baroda until his illness.
Sam was an active member of Calvary’s Lighthouse Church in Benton Harbor where he wore many hats as a musician and sound tech. He was a scout leader for Troop #547 in Berrien Springs for many years. Sam was a self-less & caring person who would do whatever he could for other. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the local Bass Busters Club and also enjoyed music. Please always remember Sam when you listen to music because he would want all to live life with music.
Sam is survived by his wife Beth; his children-Patricia Mitchell of Fort Smith, AR, Sean Perrone & Aubrey Perrone, both of Berrien Springs; six grandchildren-Alexis, Douglas, Summer, Autum, Landon & Drakeley; his great granddaughter Annebelle; his siblings-Robert Perrone, Jerry Perrone, Rhonda Sorrels, James Perrone; his sister-in-law Betty Perrone; his brother-in-law Brian Bly; and numerous nieces & nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Perrone.
