Whirlpool has once again been recognized for its effort to respect LGBTQ+ employees.
The company has received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index. The index rates companies for their LGBTQ+ policies.
Whirlpool says the index considers four categories when determining ratings. They are non-discrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture, and corporate social responsibility. Whirlpool met all the required criteria, including the implementation of policies to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Whirlpool Pride Network lead Rich Missey says, “Every year we have received a 100 score from the HRC has been a testament to our meaningful work in this space.”
