It’s expected to be a slow holiday shopping season for stores across Michigan.

Andrea Bitely is with the Michigan Retailers Association. She says only 12% of stores think their sales will rise through the holidays.

“That’s not necessarily a good sign for a kid looking for lots of presents under the Christmas tree or for retailers who are really dependent on sales between now and the holidays,” Bitely said.

Bitely says more than 75% of stores expect no change in sales this holiday season.
