It was a successful Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff this summer. Krasl Art Center Director Tami Fauver told St. Joseph City Commissioners Monday the event attracted 172 artists and required more than 300 volunteers to put on. The block party that kicked off the fair had 750 attendees.

“Throughout the weekend, for the art fair that was July 8 and 9, we saw an attendance of 22,792 people,” Fauver said. “We did give out 561 free wrist bands this year, which was up from the previous year, so we think that messaging went better.”

St. Joseph Today helped pass out those wrist bands. Fauver said Krasl is pleased to note the fair has been ranked the 28th best art fair in Sunshine Artist Magazine’s annual 200 list of the best art and craft festivals in the country. She added the city provided support for the event from the public safety and department of public works to make everything go off without a hitch. Mayor Laura Goos said the fair is a true community event, noting when attendees couldn’t pay the $5 entrance fee, they were still allowed in.
