Bangor City Manager Tommy Simpson is moving on. He tells us after about ten years working for the city of Bangor, he wants to do something else.
Simpson has been city manager since 2020, and prior to that, served as the city clerk, the police chief, and as a police officer.
Simpson says he doesn’t quite know what he will do, but he will be living at least part-time in Indiana.
During his time with the city of Bangor, he says a lot of progress has been made building up the police department and public works. He says Bangor is his hometown, adding he loves Bangor.
Simpson doesn’t have a departure date yet, telling us he’s giving the city council time to find his replacement. There will be interviews next month with the police chief, the treasurer, and a council member for the position.
Simpson thanks the community for the opportunity to serve.
