Police have identified a man killed following a chase that started in Niles on Wednesday as 32-year-old Joshua Ringle of South Bend. Indiana State Police say officers in Niles tried to pull Ringle over for a traffic violation Wednesday night when he took off and led them into Indiana. He crashed his vehicle near Memorial Hospital and was shot. He was found dead on the banks of the St. Joseph River. A female passenger in his vehicle was not hurt or arrested. Indiana State Police have not released any additional information on the shooting.
