Van Buren County’s Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 50-year-old man for an armed robbery at the Shell Gas Station in 61828 Cr 687 Hartford Shell Gas Station, Hartford, MI.
The incident happened just before 3 this morning. Sheriff Dan Abbott reports a man entered the Hartford Shell Gas Station and attempted to purchase groceries. He was unable to pay, walked behind the counter, struck the attendant his bag of groceries and attempted to leave.
A struggle ensued in the store and then the parking lot where the suspect then pulled a knife. The clerk retreated back into the store and deputies arrived on scene. They detained the man, found the knife, some methamphetamine, and ultimately booked the 50-year-old male out of Coloma into the Van Buren County Jail.
