A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to help the Spring Creek Equestrian Center in Three Oaks add a classroom space to go along with its programs. Sally Bogert with the Friends of Spring Creek Equestrian Center tells us they host hundreds of children and adults each year through horseback riding lessons, homeschool classes, camps for kids, horse shows, and special events. However, the indoor programming doesn’t have its own dedicated space.
“We really would like to have a dedicated classroom so homeschool classes, foundation classes, meetings, any kind of classes that we offer,” Bogert said. “We can do year-round, we can have an uninterrupted space, something that would really benefit the students.”
Bogert says it’s amazing to watch the kids transform as they bond with horses and come out of their shells. They learn horse behavior, how to care for horses, and how to ride while they build life skills like teamwork, time management, and taking responsibility. With the classroom space that’s being planned, programs could be held year-round with no distractions. The goal is to raise $100,000, and the campaign will continue until the goal is reached.
