Michigan State Police have identified a woman found on a trail in Kalamazoo County last week. They said at the time they were unable to communicate with the woman found at the Al Sabo Land Preserve and put out an appeal to the public for help. On Monday, state police released the following statement:
“Thanks to your excellent reporting involving this case, MSP was flooded with tips that ultimately led to the positive identification of the young female found in the Al Sabo Land last week.
Takai Crute, 22-years-old, of Kalamazoo was identified sometime yesterday by MSP.
She is currently in good health and remains in the care of Adult Protective Services.
As we continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident, we are not releasing any further details which could compromise the integrity of our overall efforts. We are hoping to wrap this case up as quick as possible and will, at that time, provide more context regarding this investigation.”

The Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post is seeking help from the public to identify what they are calling a Living Jane Doe.
At around 6 p.m. Thursday, a hiker at the Al Sabo Land Preserve west of Kalamazoo in Texas Township found the unidentified woman, described as a 5-foot-2 black female, possibly in her 20s, weighing 155 pounds and was carrying a garbage bag of clothing. She had no identification and authorities said they were not able to effectively communicate with her.
She was transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for medical care and evaluation. Numerous law enforcement and other state resources have also been deployed to help with identification.
