Indianapolis Colts lineman, former SJHS star Wesley French honored by alma mater

Former St. Joseph High School star lineman Wesley French has been honored by his alma mater.

The Bears legend and current NFL player for the Indianapolis Colts stopped by the high school Thursday for a visit and to deliver a signed Colts jersey for the St. Joseph Hall of Fame wall.

A three-star recruit out of high school, French was an All-State player and ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the state by Rivals.com.

After graduating from SJHS, French signed with Western Michigan University. He spent spent six years with the Broncos, playing on both the offensive and defensive lines during his tenure.  In 2021, he played in and started all 13 games at center, was an Academic All-MAC selection and helped the Broncos to Quick Lane Bowl win over Nevada.

In May 2022, he signed a contract as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts.
