Michelle “Shelly” Hill of St. Joseph died Monday, January 2, 2023, at the Spectrum Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Services celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 9, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township with Pastor Dani Veenstra officiating. The visitation will begin at Noon on Monday until service time at 1 PM on Monday at the Fairplain Chapel. Burial will follow in Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Lincoln Township. Shelly was born on August 17, 1960 in Benton Harbor to Michael and Jean Williams. She spent many hours helping on the farm in Sodus and became a part-owner of the family farm called Rock Roots farm. She also was employed at Plastronics in her earlier years. Shelly married her husband, Jack Hill, Jr. in 2002. Shelly was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and farming. Shelly was a loving and caring wife to her husband. She was also the backbone of the family group and the fun loving aunt and second mother to many. Shelly was the life of the party to everyone.
Her family includes her husband, Jack, Jr.; her and Jack’s children, Kerry Michael (Carisa) Pletcher, of Battle Creek, Jan (Clint) Blosser of Niles, and Jack (Dana) Hill, III, of Russellville, AK; her step-mother, Peg Williams, of Oak Lawn, IL; her 3 siblings, Kathleen (Ken) Williams of Benton Harbor, Sherri (Shane) Kaminski of Chicago and Michael (Sheri) Williams, Jr. of Chicago; her in-laws Jack (Gerry) Hill Sr. of St. Joseph; her 3 grandchildren, Patrick Davis, Jorry Goff, and Charlee Robertson and her many nieces and nephews. Her family also includes a brother-in-law, Todd (Kris) Hill of St. Joseph and a sister-in-law, Beth (Jon) Jasper of Rochester Hills, MI. She was preceded by a sister, Kimberly Freeman and her grandson, Tristan. She will be missed by all.
