MLK Celebration Week 2023 at Lake Michigan College will kick off on Saturday, January 14. LMC says the theme this year is Keep Moving Forward, inspired by King’s speech, “Keep Moving from This Mountain,” delivered April 10, 1960. Things begin on the 14th with the MLK Choral Festival and continue Sunday with a panel discussion, “Seriousness of Reparation – Crimes Against Humanity.” Monday will bring the return of the MLK Celebration and Community Breakfast at the Grand Upton Hall and the announcement of the Spirit of MLK Spotlight recipients. The rest of MLK Week will feature events each day, including the United Way of Southwest Michigan 10-day Equity Challenge, volunteer opportunities, panel discussions, and several story times.
