The Inflation Reduction Act is now in effect with the new year. Michigan U.S. Senator Gary Peters says it lowers costs for insulin for seniors on Medicare.

“It’s certainly a big deal for folks who take that important medicine,” says Peters. “Also, Medicare will fully cover all vaccines for seniors on Medicare. That means Michiganders on Medicare will no longer to pay any co-pay when they receive critical vaccines.”

Peters says those who receive their health insurance from the Affordable Care Act, some 270,000 Michiganders, will see a reduction in costs of about $800 a year.
