The Cass County Sheriff’s Department continues to urge people to stay off the roads in today’s blizzard conditions. Sheriff Richard Behnke says roads remain treacherous with many drifted shut. Blowing snow continues to make visibility low. The Cass County Road Commission is working today, but abandoned cars from people who got stuck have made cleanup difficult. Blizzard conditions continue through late in the day. The sheriff says, “No one should consider driving in this weather unless it is an absolute emergency. Emergencies include people that must work. You may also have to wait for help to arrive and you could place others in danger as well. Please stay home and travel only if it is an emergency. Protect yourself and others this holiday season. Be smart and stay home.”
