This year, more than 300 community members attended the annual Corewell Health Foundation Southwest Michigan, formerly Spectrum Health Lakeland Foundation, gala held at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Through sponsorships, ticket sales and silent and live auctions, the gala raised over $500,000 to offer higher education opportunities for Corewell Health South nurses.

The theme of the event, “At the Heart of Healing” celebrated Corewell Health South nurses and raised essential funds to increase access to and minimize costs for nurses to achieve advanced degrees.

“We are blessed and humbled by our community’s generosity and support to ensure the future of health care in our community continues,” said Soroya Pierre-VanArtsen, President, Corewell Health Foundation Southwest Michigan, and Vice President of Philanthropy. “This event was a special occasion to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our team members and we are so thankful for their continued commitment.”

During the evening, guests enjoyed fine dining catered by area restaurants, live entertainment and a first look at the new Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital renovations.
