The Berrien County Trial Court is hosting five public adoptions on Monday, November 21st in courtroom 403 at the Berrien County Courthouse, 811 Port St., St. Joseph.

The court is hosting the event as part of Adoption Month in November with the theme of “Giving Thanks For Families.”

“We have so many kids that don’t have homes and don’t have families,” said Holly Bream, of Berrien County Adoption Services. “Obviously, that’s something that is needed in their lives – to have that permanency and stability really makes a huge difference for these kiddos.”

Bream said the court will finalize three foster care adoptions, one relative adoption and one adult adoption. Hearings will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and the public is invited to attend.

“Opening it up to the public allows them to see the process, see a happy ending and see the need that is so great in our community,” Bream said. “We’re really looking forward to finalizing these five adoptions.”
