Michigan has added 16,901 new cases of COVID-19 in the past week. The state Department of Health and Human Services says cases averaged 2,404 a day. There were 147 people who died from the virus for a total of 38,464 since the pandemic began in March 2020. Just over 68% of Michigan residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
