Police Identify Berrien County Road Department Employee Killed Wednesday

The Berrien County Road Department employee who was killed when struck by a vehicle while on the job Wednesday has been identified as 57-year-old William “Mack” Isom of Baroda. Isom was working to clear a tree branch that had fallen over Red Bud Trail in Oronoko Township Wednesday when police say a drunk driver crashed into the branch. The driver, 34-year-old Taylor Johnson of Buchanan, was arraigned Thursday. He’s charged with operating while intoxicated causing death. The Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department says the crash remains under investigation and Michigan State Police  are assisting.
