A teen boy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday night after crashing an off-road vehicle into a tree in LaGrange Township.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department reported that approximately 8:43 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Oak Grove Road and Dunning Street for a reported ORV crash with injuries. When deputies arrived, they found that 14-year-old Gage Earl Mitchell was traveling through a field when the ORV overturned and struck a tree. Gage was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, and a helmet was not worn. Deputies were assisted on scene by PRIDE Care EMS, Cass Central Fire Department, and the Michigan State Police.
