The Berrien County Historical Association has reported some thefts from its museum in Berrien Springs. The group says it contacted police this week when two items were stolen from its Against the Grain exhibit. The artifacts were removed by persons unknown in the late morning or early afternoon of June 9. They are a hand-carved bowl and spoon set donated by the late artist Rudy Lindquist in the 1970s. The historical association says the items are labelled with accession numbers. The bowl would have “Rudy” carved into the bottom of it, but the spoon will likely not. The association says the items are one of a kind and “truly irreplaceable.” Anyone with information about their location or how they were taken is asked to contact the Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Department.
The items are labelled with accession numbers 76.6.32A and 76.6.32B. A secondary label beginning with H may also be found.
