The Wheelchair Hockey League of Michigan is planning a wheelchair hockey clinic at the John and Dede Howard Ice Arena in St. Joseph Memorial Day weekend. Wheelchair hockey is a sport that welcomes a diverse array of abilities and physical disabilities so players can compete in team-oriented way. The participants can be in manual or powered chairs. The Wheelchair Hockey League of Michigan says the May 28 clinic will be a great opportunity for physically disabled members of the community to find a sense of belonging with their peers, as well as a competitive outlet. They have the Michigan State Adaptive Sports and Recreation Club coming with equipment, so the only barrier for community members will be to find transportation to Howard Arena. The league is even willing to help with that as well if needed. The deadline to register is May 14. Below is a flyer.
