Lake Michigan College will be offering a wide variety of summer camps this year for kids, adults, and families. Hanson Technology Center Director Chad Dee tells WSJM News a lot of them are happening at the Fab Lab, offering several ways a person can do some creating.

“Boot camp is one of our most popular camps, where we kind of give an open lab feel to all of the participants and they have about three or four projects they can complete over a particular day,” Dee said.

The Hanson Center camps tend to focus on creating and technology.

“We’ve got a couple of new ones this year, such as Build Your own Virtual Pinball Machine, where we take a four by eight sheet of plywood and you make a three quarter replica scale of a pinball machine and we use TV screens to simulate a pinball game.”

Other summer camps focus on music and other learning. Dee says the openings are filling up quickly, adding it’s exciting to be back to normal this year. You can find out about the camps and register for them at LakeMichiganCollege.edu/Camps or at the Fab Lab’s website.
