Ranked as one of the best non-profits in the country to work for is the United Way of Southwest Michigan. The NonProfit Times released its 50 Best Nonprofits To Work For in 2022 list this week and the local United Way came in sixth place. United Way of Southwest Michigan President Anna Murphy tells WSJM News the publication considers several factors when determining the best non-profits to work for.
“They look at evaluating the workplace policies, practices, philosophies, demographics, those types of things,” Murphy said. “That’s a small percent of the total evaluation, and then the larger percent of the evaluation is looking at overall attitudes of employees and their experience with that organization.”
Murphy says she thinks it’s the team at the United Way of Southwest Michigan that makes it a good place to work. She says it’s exciting to see the United Way on the list after it also placed on it in 2019 and 2020. Also appearing on the 50 Best Nonprofits To Work For in 2022 list is Kinexus Group out of Benton Harbor. It placed 46th.
