Coming soon to Benton Harbor High School will be ESports. District Superintendent Andrae Townsel was in Kalamazoo this past week week to visit Western Michigan University to learn more about how to implement a competitive video game program in the district. He says ESports helps students learn skills like strategic thinking, teamwork, collaboration, goal setting, preparation, and managing success and failure. It can also help prepare them for careers in production, programming, streaming, game development, graphic design, marketing, video production, and STEM fields. Townsel says a donation of $25,000 from Whirlpool will help make ESports a reality at Benton Harbor Area Schools. ESports To Come To BHHS
