Chuck attended Benton Harbor High School and earned his engineering degree from Western Michigan. He worked at Paramount Die Casting and retired from Premier Tool and Die. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and he always said that the woods were his church. Time spent hunting in the woods or fishing from his boat was precious to him. He loved being with his family and providing them with wild game and home-grown vegetables. He loved gardening and watching wild birds with his favorite four legged “dogter”, Sophie.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Robert Oviatt. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanie; children, Chuck (Lis) Hires, Amy Oviatt, Terri (Brian) Riemland; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his sisters, Sandy, Cheryl, and Sally.
