Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is telling three Mackinaw City hotels she is issuing a notice of intended action for deceptive practices. Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront, Beach House Hotel, and Crown Choice Inn & Suites are accused of running a bait and switch for letting people make reservations for a closed hotel. They were then sent to Hamilton Inn and denied refunds due to a 72-hour cancellation policy. A special agent with the AG’s office booked a reservation for Crown Inn with access to their indoor waterpark and 17 indoor pools, but the hotel was dark and empty when he arrived.
