There is a huge meeting of Michigan farmers taking place in Grand Rapids over the next couple of days. More than 400 farmers will meet for the Michigan Farm Bureau’s 102nd annual meeting. President Carl Bednarski told Michigan News Network they’ll be discussing concerns about the pandemic and climate change.

“With the pandemic in full force, you can just image some of the things that have been identified that the delegates or the farmers who are here are going to want to talk about,” Bednarski said. “They’re going to want to talk about the supply chain, food processing, how that all affects them. Are there ways to alleviate some of the bottle necks in there?

They’ll also discuss carbon sequestration and how they can be a player in alleviating it. Bednarski says farmers live off the land and says they are probably the best environmentalists.
