It’s expected to be a record breaking holiday shopping season. The National Retail Federation says sales could be as high as 10% over last season. In Michigan, Jennifer Rook with the Michigan Retailers Association says retailers across the state are very optimistic. They want your business now.
“If anything, they are telling customers to shop early,” Rooks said. “This is a message that has been echoed across the country and it resides here at home too, that if you want something, consider the shop around the corner because chances are they’re going to have it, and if you see it, buy it.”
Rook says this shoppers this year are encouraged to visit at least three local small businesses. She says Michigan businesses need it after being hit with the pandemic.
