Robert “Bob” W. Carpenter, 79, of Three Oaks, MI, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI.
He was born February 13, 1942 in Newberry, MI to the late Beatrice and Glen J. Carpenter, Sr. Bob was a U.S. National Guard Veteran. On November 30, 1967, Bob married Carol Jean Hazelrig in Atlanta, GA. Bob worked for Buchanan Steel then Pemco until his retirement. After retirement, he continued to work doing many side jobs.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; daughters, Michelle (Bill) Meloni, Margo Tomlinson; brothers, Glen (Mary) J. Carpenter Jr., Albert “Buck” Carpenter; grandchildren, Trent (Samantha) Rainwater, Robert “Danny” Rainwater, Jordan Zehner, Derrick Tomlinson; great-grandchildren, Matthew Diehl, T.J. Butler, Angel Rainwater, Taylor Rainwater; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Glen Sr.; brother, Mike Carpenter; sister, Dorothy Pringle; grandson, Terry Rainwater.
Celebration of Bob’s life will be at 11 am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
