Michigan State Police have a man in custody after a brief standoff in Niles. Thomas Person was wanted on a pair of felony warrants in Berrien and Van Buren counties. He was seen entering a home on 7th Street, and troopers say they considered him armed and dangerous. Person surrendered around noon Tuesday after the short standoff. Exactly what he is being charged with is not yet known.
